Childhood Markus Natten Summary- In this beautiful poem, the poet shows his concern about the loss of his childhood. He wants to know when he lost his childhood and entered adulthood. Though he does not have any idea he makes different expectations. The poet guesses that he must have lost his childhood when he was eleven. Till eleven a child does not know the distinction between truth and imagination. From eleven onwards a child begins to think rationally. At that age, the poet realised that the concept of "hell" and "heaven" were imaginary. It was the time he began distinguishing between reality and fiction. Then the poet makes a guess that he lost his childhood when he could make out the hypocrisy of an adult. He realised that appearance was deceptive with the grown-ups. The adults talked of love and preached love but in real life, they play hypocrisy....
